We tailor our services to you and your pet ensuring that your pets get the care they require and the service you want for them. We are happy to walk your dog on or off the lead as appropriate. Like most other dog walking companies we are insured to walk up to six dogs in a group regardless of the number of people accompanying the group, but we will only walk dogs individually or in small socialised groups, to give a safer and more personal service for your pet. We walk in a variety of rural locations so your dog can enjoy a stimulating and interesting walk.

Friends for Pets was founded and is still led by Becca Wilson who has an MSc in Animal Science specialising in Animal Behaviour & Welfare. Becca has taught qualified vets, vet students, animal health workers, and further education students in the UK and all over the world. Since 2016 our pet carers have been able to undertake our pet sitter award scheme, promoting better understanding of pet-based knowledge. Our local team managers are trained and qualified in pet first aid and animal behaviour & handling. Most have extra animal related qualifications. Our pet carers hold a range of qualifications and experiences, from being experienced pet owners, to dog trainers, groomers, vet nurses, vet lecturers and undergraduate vet students.

We have our own Pet First Aid Trainer

Like most other reputable Pet Care Companies we are Pet First Aid Trained but we have gone one further and have our own qualified Pet First Aid Instructor to ensure our staff are up to date with basic first aid skills. She is also on hand to staff should they need any advice or support whilst they are carrying out their dog walking or pet sitting duties.

We are a trustworthy, reliable team of Animal Lovers

All our staff are very experienced animal lovers. We provide a free Introductory no obligation meeting with your Pet Carer, to make sure everyone gets on. As we have a team of pet carers we can find a suitable match for you and your pet as well as providing a back up pet carer should your usual pet carer be ill or on holiday, something smaller companies can not offer. You will be given the opportunity meet any back up pet carers before they need to visit your pet and home to check all parties are happy. We ask all new pet carers that we take on to hold a minimum of a Basic Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland to reassure our clients their dog and home is in security conscious hands. Each pet sitter can provide references. We are fully insured.

Your Home and Pet’s security is more important than our marketing

We offer a discrete walking and visiting service by not using sign-written vehicles to visit your empty home and transport your pets keeping your home and pet security high by not announcing to everyone we are visiting an empty house or carrying a vehicle containing lovely dogs. Occasionally our managers will use car magnets which are removed whilst visiting client’s homes and carrying pets. We do not leave your keys in our vehicles alongside your address details for them to be stolen as other companies have had!

We are Customer Orientated

After your initial contact with Friends for Pets we will contact you as soon as we can and within one working day (Monday to Friday). We reply to all enquiries even if we can’t help you at the current time. If you need your pet looking after, we will provide the care in the way you wish. There will be no conditions and no compromises and most importantly you can have peace of mind and enjoy your holidays or have one less thing to worry about while you are at work. We offer a competitive, cost effective solution for your pet care requirements and we are usually cheaper than one man companies so contact your local branch for a quote! Each team is locally managed with a small team of local staff giving you two points of contact as well as Friends for Pets head office.
